After scuba diving in Anini-y, Antique, I continued with my journey and headed towards the town of Culasi. I had read about Mararison Island and after doing my research, found out that there was scuba diving in the area. I didn't want to pass up the opportunity to check this out so I included it in my itinerary for my travel in Antique. The day before I was leaving for Mararison, I found out that scuba diving was canceled on the island due to the dive operator not acquiring the right government permits. I decided to still visit the island despite this. Getting to Mararison is a bit of a challenge. From Anini-y I took a bus, then a trike, then a van, then a boat! As soon as my feet hit the sands of Mararison Island, I knew it was worth it. The island is absolutely beautiful and my video didn't give it much justice. I am not so fond of climbing mountains but I highly recommend doing the sunrise trek. I did a bit of snorkelling on my own and just found random spots around the island which was also enjoyable. Overall a fun experience even without the scuba diving! Probably one of the favorite things about this place is its people. They were very polite and helpful! Everywhere I went they would acknowledge my presence and say a greeting. I don't recall visiting an island in the Philippines that did this to tourists. It's like they all attended a tourism 101 seminar on how to treat visitors! :D If you find yourself in Antique, do visit this quiet and beautiful island of Mararison. 📌Mararison Island Travel Guide 👉 https://www.diverbliss.com/activities-to-do-in-mararison-island/ This was part of my 1-week solo travel in Antique Province: Part 1: Scuba Diving Nogas Island in Anini-y (https://youtu.be/QMUFBKtf1zk)
